Can Illegal Immigrants Vote?

Get ready America! While the candidates for president have for the most part been chosen, the upcoming election will certainly be contentious and likely fraught with voter fraud of one kind or another. One issue that is coming to the forefront is the question, “Can Illegal Immigrants Vote?”

The sign pictured above is an obvious warning to people that might cross our nation’s border illegally. They may be arrested and prosecuted for violating U.S. Immigration and Customs Laws.

Sadly however, it appears that with our current administration and in our current political climate, seldom are even these most basic of our laws enforced.

I want to make it absolutely clear that I, like most americans, am all for legal immigration to the United States of America!

People have come from all over the world to become American citizens, and to be a part of the greatest experiment in democracy the world has ever known.

They have helped to build the America we live in today! The very fabric of our nation is woven with threads of immigrants from every corner of the planet, and we are all better for it!

However, Just as you have the right to protect your home from the invasion of the public at large, so do we as a nation have the right to defend our borders from invasion be it peaceful or otherwise.

In fact I would submit to you that perhaps the first duty of the federal government is to protect the borders of our great nation. Without the protection of the borders, do we have a sovereign nation?

Are we encouraging this unlawful entry into the United States by the resources we make available to the illegal aliens?

This is a tongue in cheek depiction of what illegal Immigrants receive when they come to the United States, but, it is not that different than reality.

In a report published by FAIR, the Federation for American Immigration Reform, Illegal immigrants cost the U.S. taxpayers approximately $113 Billion per year. You can see the full report here.

Most of that burden is carried by the states. With so many of our states facing budget shortfalls, this is a expensive problem that needs to be addressed.

I am certainly not opposed to helping someone out when they need it, but, I do have a hard time swallowing that kind of bill for services rendered for people who enter this country criminally.

And to be sure, Illegal immigration is a crime. If you don’t believe me, take your pick of the country you want to go to, and enter it illegally. You will be dealt with most harshly when the authorities there determine you are illegal.

And, you certainly won’t have any of the rights and protections that you are so familiar with if you are a U.S. citizen. Much less the benefits that we provide to persons entering the United States illegally.

Can Illegal Immigrants Vote – We Must Protect Our Sovereignty

With the fate of our nation at stake, it is imperative that we demand our established laws be followed and enforced. Particularly when it comes to any seat of power, and most importantly then, the highest office of the land.

We cannot allow the obvious lack of personal character and integrity evident in some of our politicians to be an influence in the just and right execution of our election process.

Can Illegal Immigrants Vote? – Amendment XV of the U.S. Constitution

AMENDMENT XV

Passed by Congress February 26, 1869. Ratified February 3, 1870.

Section 1.
The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude–

Section 2.
The Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

The above is quoted text of Amendment XV of the U.S. Constitution clearly states “citizens”.

I can find no reference giving any non-citizens the right to vote. I did find this on the USCIS.gov website.

I would like to bring to your attention the bottom of the second paragraph that indicates that as a reward for becoming a citizen “you are rewarded with all the rights and privileges that are part of U.S. citizenship.”

Appropriately so in my opinion. But to offer the rewards without the commitment to citizenship is not a positive for the rest of the citizens, certainly.

This is just one example of the push to allow illegal immigrants to vote. This is voter fraud in my opinion. Isn’t voting one of those rights and privileges mentioned above in the excerpt from government’s own citizenship documents?

Can Illegal Immigrants Vote – Voter I.D. Requirements by State

Below is a chart that was published by the Washington Post detailing voter I.D. Requirements in each state.

Can Illegal Immigrants Vote - chart1

With 20 states having no requirement at all for an I.D. and another 16 that do NOT require a picture I.D. we all have to expect that there is a ton of people voting that have no right to the privilege.

This leaves the United States very vulnerable to influence from outside our nation and puts the safety, security and sovereignty of our country at risk.

Citizens need to demand that state legislatures institute voter I.D. laws that require the same identification requirements of a driver’s license.
See the Real ID Act information here.

Most driver’s licenses already fall under the guidelines found in the Real ID Act. Here is a quote from the Department of Homeland Security.

Preventing terrorists from obtaining state-issued identification documents is critical to securing America against terrorism. As the 9/11 Commission noted, “For terrorists, travel documents are as important as weapons.” The 9/11 Commission Report: Final Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks upon the United States, at 384 (2004).

I submit to you that protecting our election process is just as important! If we can’t protect the election process, then people, groups, or countries with nefarious goals can use our own system against us!REAL ID ACT

Millions of illegal immigrants voting is usurping the power and authority of citizens to be able to run their own country.

Some people believe that one political party or the other would do that to forward their own goals.

Do you believe this is happening now? Please leave comments! I would love to read and respond to your opinions!

If citizens of this country have to have a “Real I.D.” to operate their personal vehicle in this country, why shouldn’t you need one to vote?

Can Illegal Immigrants Vote – Yes they can!

The bottom line on this question is yes. Yes they can.

Your election process is polluted by non-citizens that have access to the ballot box. Maybe your vote will be nullified by someone that doesn’t have a legitimate right to vote.

Many of your government officials want it that way to forward their agenda.

What are you going to do about it?

  1. Hi Tom,

Certainly a complex issue and one I think you’ve covered quite objectively.

I’m actually from Australia so my knowledge of US politics isn’t great. However something that comes to my mind is that illegal immigrants being able to vote is sure to work against Trump. So could allowing ‘illegal’ votes be an underhanded political strategy?

    1. Hi Tim!

Thanks for visiting TheCivilVoice.com, and for your comment regarding Can Illegal Immigrants Vote.

You are absolutely right that it could be, and is, an underhanded political strategy to encourage illegal voting. Unfortunately it is one of the tools that the political parties will try to use. This is a strategy usually employed by the democratic party.

I also believe that the democratic party has used other inducements like the welfare system to try to pad their voter rolls. We have more people using government programs today than ever in the history of our country. Something along the lines of 43% of our households are receiving government assistance to purchase food.

Some may look at this as a great achievement, but to me it is a simple measure to say that either the economy is so terrible that 43% need this kind of assistance, or, that the percentage of people able to game the system to receive these funds has risen dramatically.

If I were in the leadership of our great country, I would be embarrassed to say that 43% of our population need government assistance to buy food. The democrats however, consider this to be a great achievement.

Thank you very much for your question Tim!

I hope that you will come back and engage with us often!

      Sincerely,
      Tom
